Reframing Climate Action Through Soil Regeneration
DAUN (Decarbonised Agriculture for Universal Nutrition) is a transformative collective initiative dedicated to reshaping global food systems through microalgae-driven soil regeneration and united nutrient stewardship. We envision a future where agriculture becomes the primary engine of planetary restoration rather than decline.
To advance climate-safe food systems through soil regeneration, responsible nutrient management, and cross-sector collaboration. We leverage microalgae-based biofertilisers to restore microbial life in soil, enhance resilience to climate extremes, and ensure sustainable nutrition for all.
Moving beyond mining the land for calories to stewarding the land for resilience.
A world where agriculture is no longer a contributor to planetary decline but becomes the primary engine of restoration. By 2030, we aim to demonstrate that regenerative practices powered by microalgae innovation can simultaneously address climate change, food security, and soil health at scale.
Healing the Earth's living skin through science and stewardship.
We ground all initiatives in peer-reviewed science and measurable impact. Microalgae technology is backed by decades of research and proven carbon sequestration capabilities.
We believe transformation requires partnership across sectors—schools, universities, private enterprise, governments, and communities working toward shared climate goals.
Regenerative solutions must be economically viable for modern farmers and accessible to communities in the Global South, ensuring no one is left behind.
We prioritize planetary well-being over short-term gains, ensuring that every decision honors the land and future generations.
Founder & Chair, District Action Group for ESG, Climate Change and Food Security (DECAFS)
Gordan Vong initiated DAUN.institute and serves as Chair for the District Action Group for ESG, Climate Change and Food Security (DECAFS) under Rotary International District 3300. He is also a member of the Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group (ESRAG).
As the driving force behind DAUN's operationalisation, Gordan brings strategic vision and community leadership to ensure the initiative remains grounded in ethical principles and leverages Rotary's vast global network to turn climate principles into local, actionable solutions.
Chief Executive Officer, ONT Global Ventures Sdn Bhd
Dr Jeff Wong leads ONT Global Ventures Sdn Bhd and serves as the visionary champion of DAUN's microalgae-driven framework. With deep expertise in carbon capture technology and sustainable agriculture, Dr Wong articulates the scientific foundation of DAUN's approach.
His philosophy is clear: "We are moving beyond mining the land for calories to stewarding the land for resilience. By leveraging microalgae-driven solutions, we aren't just capturing carbon; we are creating the biological building blocks required to heal the Earth's living skin."
Dr Wong's leadership ensures that microalgae—the most sophisticated carbon capture technology ever devised—remains at the core of DAUN's framework as the "green engine" of the next agricultural revolution.
Head of Business Development, BOC Storenet Sdn Bhd & Lead, United Nutrient Stewardship
PL Cheang leads DAUN's United Nutrient Stewardship pillar, a core mission that proposes a new social contract for the agricultural value chain. In this framework, every stakeholder—from farmers to corporations to governments—shares responsibility for how life-sustaining elements such as nitrogen and phosphorus are managed.
As Head of Business Development at BOC Storenet Sdn Bhd, PL brings commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement expertise to ensure DAUN's regenerative solutions are economically viable, scalable, and accessible to farmers across the Global South. His work bridges the gap between environmental stewardship and business sustainability.
DAUN.institute operates as a hub for innovation and stewardship under the DAUN collective, with three integrated pillars working in concert:
Led by Dr Jeff Wong, this pillar develops and scales microalgae-based biofertilisers that restore soil health, sequester carbon at unprecedented rates, and enhance agricultural resilience.
Led by PL Cheang, this pillar reimagines how nitrogen, phosphorus, and other nutrients flow through agricultural systems, ensuring responsible management and equitable value distribution.
Led by Gordan Vong through DECAFS and ESRAG, this pillar drives public consciousness shift, builds educational programs, and mobilizes communities to champion soil health and climate action.
DAUN is seeking global collaboration across sectors—schools, universities, private enterprise, and communities. Whether you're an innovator, educator, farmer, or climate advocate, there's a place for you in this collective effort to heal the Earth.
